Appointment of GambleAware Statewide Aboriginal Service Provider
NSW Aboriginal Safe Gambling has been awarded the contract to deliver the GambleAware Statewide Aboriginal Service from 1 January 2022. NSW Aboriginal Safe Gambling has over 10 years’ experience in the delivery of the statewide Warruwi program funded by the Responsible Gambling Fund and the delivery of gambling awareness programs within Aboriginal communities across the state.
A key element of the reform of gambling treatment and support services in NSW, the GambleAware Statewide Aboriginal Service will work with GambleAware services across NSW to deliver a diverse program of work, including:
- Working with GambleAware services to establish connections with the Aboriginal communities in their region
- Collaborating with each GambleAware service to develop a community engagement plan
- Supporting the development of strategic partnerships between GambleAware services and service providers in their region.
NSW Aboriginal Safe Gambling will continue operate under the Warruwi brand for the remainder of 2021 as they transition over to GambleAware. The GambleAware Statewide Aboriginal Service will commence in January 2022.
